Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 8 apples (3 or 4 pounds)
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped filberts
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Optional for serving: whipped cream or ice cream

Instructions

  1. Set oven to 375ºF.
  2. Peel the apples if you like and slice them thinly. Put into a 13×9″ pan and squeeze the lemon juice all over. Toss them around in that and spread them evenly.
  3. Combine the sugar, oats, everything in a medium bowl and mix with your hands to make a crumbly topping.
  4. Spread that evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake 30 minutes.
  6. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream
