You are hilarious! Thanks for the giggles and what a great tip (adding salt and pepper on the outside) brilliant!

I wasn’t sure about this one because I’ve never cooked or eaten a turkey burger but I told myself “trust Hilah”. It worked really well though it took a while longer to cook (I think my patties were too thick). I added a thin slice (40 calories) of swiss cheese and some New Mexico green chile. Also made your oven fries to go with it. Good stuff. Thanks.

Thanks for your trust, Mitchster! I’m glad I didn’t let you down! Swiss and green chile sounds perfecto.

The salsa in the patties is genius! I made these on Monday and I gotta hand it to ya Hilah, they were a hit! Super juicy and flavorful. I kind of eyeballed the salsa and I put in way too much cause my patties were too wobbly, loose, you know what I mean. I went ahead and put them in the oven for a little bit to evaporate some of the juice and then took them out and finished them off in the pan. They were still super moist and delicious. I’m sticking with your way cause it’s fuckin rad! Keep on truckin girl! I love you and your recipes!!!

Sweeeeet! Glad to hear that! I think the key is the salt and pepper on the outside. If you do that, you can’t go wrong!

    HI hilah.
    Need some trouble shooting here.
I tried making the burgers with ground chicken instead of ground turkey. Somehow it came out really soggy and it didn’t hold together as nicely as yours did. Im wondering if its that my salsa was too watery?
Also, should you wash the minced turkey/ chicken before cooking? I wasn’t sure. But I thought generally one should was all meat before use?
    Please help.. Thanks

      Hey Joselle!
If you washed your ground meat before using, that was certainly the reason they came out too soft. I don’t recommend washing meat at all. When you cook it, the temperature gets high enough to kill any potentially pathogenic bacteria, and washing meat only allows any bacteria that are on there to spread themselves all over your kitchen with the water spray and drip and all that.
Hope that helps for next time!
