Winter Seasonal Recipes

Winter seems to get a lot of people feeling kinda down in the dumps. The shorter days, not enough sunshine, the stress of holidays, the annoyance of wet shoes and jammed up jacket zippers. Not to mention, there’s nary a good tomato or peach in sight for the next six months.

But even if we don’t have summer tomatoes, there are still plenty of other fruits and vegetables to celebrate in the kitchen and on our tables. Try these recipes to make the most of your winter root vegetables, citrus, and brassicas. Make it spicy to warm up cold bellies. Plus, I’m including a couple of great edible gift ideas: homemade hot sauce and candied nuts. For a sweet touch, send each dinner guest home with a little jar of lovin’.
