Italian Dressing Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sherry vinegar or red wine vinegar (or white wine vinegar for a dressing that looks like the bottled dressing)
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 green onion, minced (1 1/2 tablespoons)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (about 1 teaspoon)
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons dried oregano, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 23 teaspoons honey (to taste)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a jar with a tight lid and shake.
  2. This tastes best if allowed to sit at least 30 minutes before serving so that all the dried herbs infuse the dressing.
  3. Keeps in refrigerator at least a month.
