  • 1 pound Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and left whole
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 13 teaspoons horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  1. Peel potatoes and cut in half if they are large. Put into a pot with the garlic cloves and cover with water. Bring to boil over high heat and boil 10-20 minutes or until they are easily pierced through. At this point, you can “hold” by turning off the heat and leaving the potatoes in the pot, covered. They will stay hot for 30 minutes or so.
  2. Drain and dry well.
  3. Mash with remaining ingredients until smooth. Serve right away.
