Gin Sidecar – Super Sized!

I had some booze sitting around from when I tried out the Cocktail 1934 and looked up in my Playboy Bar Book what I could make with what I had. What I had was gin, orange curacao, and a shitload of lemons. What that equals is a Gin Sidecar. I multiplied the recipe based on having a two-cup thermos and a little more than 2/3 of a cup of gin.

What that equaled was two cups of a Bad Mistake. But you don’t have to take my word for it.

  • Yield: 1 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 ounce gin (or 2/3 cup)
  • 3/4 ounce triple sec (or 2/3 cup orange curacao)
  • 3/4 cup lemon juice (or 2/3 cup)

Instructions

  1. Shake it all with ice
  2. Pour into a chilled highball glass and serve.
  3. Or… pour into a pre-chilled thermos. Take it on the bus with you when you head to the laundromat. Good times are practically guaranteed. Have fun!

Wow, that's a whole lot of drunk you got right there. Plus, any recipe that requires vigorous cardio cocktail-shaking is much appreciated.

It's a total workout, shaking them dranks.

I tried your sidecar instead of my usual evening martini.
It was pretty good. I did have a little trouble adjusting the triple sec, I think I got it a little too sweet.
    Love and very good show,

Yeah, I am not a fan of sweet drinks myself. But sometimes you gotta try something new to remember that you already found your favorite.

Where’d you get the juicer? It’s so pretty!
    Sorry, girly moment there.

I think my dear old granny gave me that. She probs got it at Tuesday Morning. Or Big Lots. That’s pretty much the only places she shops.

Update: I found a vintage-y looking lemon juicer and def bought it. Thanks for making my life expensive, Hilah.
