How to Cut Peppers

Using a bell pepper as an example, this quick video shows how to cut peppers, how to seed them, slice, and dice.

Remember, when cutting hot peppers, be sure to wash your hands with soap after handling them to remove irritating oils before you accidentally rub your eyeball… or something else.

“… Or something else.” Haha. I’ve totally done that.
I was cutting jalapeños for soup. Washed my hands and finished the soup. Still ran in to problems because I didn’t anticipate that other oils would reactivate the pepper oils. Haha. Definitely was super surprised.

Oh yes, great point, JT! It’s true that getting new oil on your hands will reactivate the hot oils. Weird.

I made some Jamaican jerk chicken once and cut habaneros with my bare hands. Not going to ever do that again! 🙂

Ha! Poor thing! I just got jalapeño juice on my face today and man, it stings.
