How to Mince Garlic

Watch this video to see how to mince garlic, how to slice garlic, and how to peel garlic. It’s like a three-fer-one! Get my Learn to Cook book to learn more cooking techniques and simple recipes for beginners.

When mincing garlic, it’s easiest to crush the clove with the side of your knife blade to loosen the skin. Remove skin and hard stem end then mince. Or slice paper-thin slices of garlic to fry in oil and use as a crispy garnish.

YEAH! I’m 50 and a teacher. We were dumped from our district for lack of funds. I’m going to a Culinary Arts Program. I find it cool that, as a future Chef, I can cut like a Girl and still throw like a Man! Yeah cooking!

How do you get the awkward garlic odor off your fingers after manhandling them like that all the time? Soap and warm water doesn’t seem to affect it at all. What’s the trick?

      Hi Wynn!
Try rubbing baking soda on wet hands after washing.
