I pranked my spoiled, rotten, little sister once after school. She was out tanning on the patio. She whined and flattered, saying, “But your mac n’ cheese is so much better than mine. Pleeeeeeeese go make it.” So I did, and I added blue food coloring to it. I was hoping to see a nice cobalt blue mac n’ cheese, but no such luck. All I got was Army Olive Drab.
So she’s sitting out on her chaise longue, and I’m safely inside the house watching. Waiting. Chuckling. She was wearing sunglasses, but at one point. Something didn’t seem right. Something was wrong. Terribly, terribly wrong with her vision. She stopped eating, rubbed her eyes to correct her vision. And then she realized what I’d done.
It’s a damn good thing the patio door was closed, or I’d have been wearing Mac n’ Olive Drab.

I hate to admit this but I was working for a contractor for the Air Force. I was chef in BFE and one of the civilian workers there swore he was going to get me fired. The Base Commander coming to inspect the facility and this A-hole was LOL about how my days were numbered. Now let me say this “don’t mess with a cop or your cook”. He loved chocolate pudding and the set him up. A whole box of x-lax in chocolate pudding will make sure he was not there when the general showed up.
First day back as he came to eat I asked him if he wanted chocolate pudding. That is when he knew. I didn’t hear another word from him.
I tell people ” I have never poisoned anyone by accident”

Ahaha! That’s a pretty good trick, and yes, “don’t mess with the cook” is always good advice. 🙂

Hey Hilah! On a random topic, you should make a video for how to make couscous! It’s super yummy and I think it might be super easy! I love all of your videos and they always cheer me up 🙂

You’re right, Gwen! Couscous has been sadly neglected over here. Thanks for the suggestion! 🙂

Not an intended food prank, but a surprise nonetheless… we were backpacking through Big Bend, TX and had a lot of dried goods and whatnot for cooking. It was my turn to cook that day, so I decided to make potato soup, as we had dried potato flakes and powdered milk. I set about making the soup, mixed the potato and milk with some veg, and served it up. To some horrified faces. Because we also took powdered lemonade mix on that trip. I had just made everyone a big pot of lemonade mashed potato soup. Oops.

Ahaha! That’s wonderfully disgusting, Jax! Thanks for sharing. BTW, any must-see out in the Big Bend area? We are heading there soon.

Yes! Everything. But seriously, there’s some sort of small peak called Donkey/Ass something-or-other. I remember that being fun.

My mom played a prank on my uncle by putting a piece of paper towel in the middle of his sandwich. He chewed & chewed and ate most of the sandwich before he took it apart and realized what she had done.

That’s a good one, Sheri! Not gross enough to be mean, just enough to be comical. 🙂
