Happy New Year! 2012 in Review

Highlights of 2012:

  • Released the print version of Learn to Cook.
  • Increase of over 30,000 YouTube subscribers.
  • Increase of almost 7,000 Facebook likers.
  • Released two new Kindle books: Cavelady Cooking: 50 Fun Recipes for Paleo, Low-Carb and Gluten-Free Diets and Holiday Cookies: 14 New and Delicious Cookie Recipes (including one for Fido)! (Holiday Cookies is also available in print).
  • Got a new puppy, Mr. Banjo! Mr. Banjo loves Daisy and Daisy loves Mr. Banjo.
  • Got MARRIED! Chris and I eloped to the nearest Travis county courthouse. 😉 I could not be happier. He is the love of my life and my best friend.
  • There were of course a couple of low-lights in 2012, namely the loss of our wonderful friend James Devery and a recent surgery for myself. Overall though, I’d have to view 2012 as a success, I think. Let’s hope for even better things in 2013, including no more death and no more surgery.

P.S. Some recipes you might be interested in right now: Southern-style Black Eyed Peas or Texas Caviar and Collard Greens. Eat ’em. It’s fer good luck.

Congrats on the wedding! And on the new puppy! And on the new book! And on everything else! Not necessarily in this order 🙂 (my, my, you are a very busy girl ;P )And a very successful 2013!
I love how you make cooking seem like piece of cake, you did inspire me a lot through the past year. I also love your sense of humor, which was basically what brought me to your site after reading the Taco Book, when it was free on Kindle!
I own your old, now new book and I made quite a few of the recipes, even though I managed to screw up the brownies ( took a bigger pan, baked too long, entirely my fault, but ate them all up anyway) I am not discouraged! Am not!
Keep up the good work and the spirit!

Thank you, Maja! 🙂 I’m so happy you found me. I hope you try the brownies again. The other day I made them and completely forgot to set a time, overcooked them, though not burned. They were a little crunchy but we still ate them. 😉
        Happy New Year, my friend!

Thank you, Emilie! 🙂 My only regret is that we didn’t meet sooner, but sometimes I really believe in reincarnation and that this is just one of many lives we’ll spend together. (Love makes me get all mushy and philosophical!)
I’m happy to hear you’ve enjoyed the recipes you’ve tried. Thanks for your support!

Hilah did you ever toss a Cornish Hen in the oven? Would like a video if possible. Frank

I have, but it’s been a long time. Thanks for the reminder, Frank!
